The key financial link

In this position you will get the opportunity to join the exciting development journey that the LEGO® Foundation is undergoing these years. You will be working closely with the grant management team and will be the key financial link in the LEGO Foundation’s awarding process - from selection, proposal analysis, preparation of board applications, approval and execution. You will have two workstations in Billund – the KIRKBI building at Koldingvej 2 and the brand-new LEGO Campus in the city center. Thus, you will get the chance to get well-acquainted with both the family-owned, value driven KIRKBI and the ebullient, international and diversified world of the LEGO Foundation.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Monitor the expenditure of the LEGO Foundation partners
  • Review proposals from potential new LEGO Foundation partners
  • Internal financial reporting to second level management and advising on reporting structure
  • Implementation of new finance system (Microsoft business central)
  • Facilitate process optimization, approval workflow, factoring in and reporting structure
  • Assisting in preparation of annual reports and providing financial input for e.g. accounting and analytical purposes
  • Ad hoc tasks related to financial planning, reporting and various financial analysis.

We are looking for a pragmatic, proactive, flexible and service-minded financial generalist with the will and ability to compromise when necessary and the personal skills needed to navigate in an ever-changing environment. You are passionate and able to inspire people around you and ideally you possess a philanthropist’ mind-set.

Moreover, we expect that you:

  • Have 3+ years of functional experience as business controller
  • Have a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (Financial and Management Accounting) or a MSc degree in Economics and Business Administration (cand.merc)
  • It is an advantage if you are experienced in handling funds from both the donor and the receiver side
  • Master the English language, both written and spoken – and that you are comfortable using it on a daily basis

You will join the KIRKBI Finance team – a team of app. 35 employees covering the full value chain of financial services ranging from bookkeeping, accounting, financial and business controlling and specialized functions as tax and ESG. KIRKBI Finance serves a range of customers including KIRKBI and LEGO Foundation. Your daily team consists of 3 engaged, professional and purpose driven colleagues supporting mainly Foundations and LEGO House.
